16th Anniversary of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche and the 16th Awam Monlam Chenmo

Dear Dharma Friends and Students,

The 16th Anniversary of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche and the 16th Awam Monlam Chenmo will take place online at 8:00am UK Time on 10th January 2020, Friday, the auspicious Full Moon Day.

On this auspicious Full Moon Day which is also the 16th Anniversary of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche will give an online oral transmission of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche’s – “The Swift Bestowal of Blessings: A Guru Yoga” to us and together with Rinpoche, we shall receive this transmission and practice meditation after receiving the transmission. Rinpoche will also share with us the wonderful and amazing life story of the late H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche.

H.H.Khenchen Lama Rinpoche met H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche in the year 1987 for the first time at Wu Tai Shan (The Five- Peaked Mountain) in China. In 1987, they spent 100 days together in strict retreat in four places, namely, Er Mei Shan, Pu Tuo Shan, Ji Tuo Shan and Wu Tai Shan. It was at Wu Tai Shan in 1987, H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche composed spontaneously – “The Heart Essence: My Heart’s Advice”.

Following this auspicious meeting in 1987 with H.H. Jigme Phunstok Rinpoche, H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche then proceeded to Larung Gar Buddhist Academy, in Serta, Larung. Rinpoche spent 10 years in Larung Gar studying under the strict guidance of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche from the year 1990 – 2000. In Larung Gar, Rinpoche received all of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche’s lineage transmissions, empowerment and teachings.

This is truly a rare opportunity not to be missed to receive the Guru Yoga oral transmission from H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche.
