H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche’s message on Awam Monlam Chenmo in Hong Kong, 7th October 2019

艾旺祈願法會（艾旺滿林欽莫）

祝大家如意吉祥！

First, I’d like to say thank you to all the members of the Awam organization in Hong Kong for hosting the Awam Monlam Chenmo event. We welcome everyone: sponsors, His Holiness, Rinpoches, lamas, monks, nuns, yogis, yoginis and Dharma brothers and sisters. Everyone who is interested in compassion and wisdom, are welcome.
首先我要向香港每一位艾旺家族的成員說聲：感謝！因為您們的努力艾旺祈願法會才得以開始，另外我亦想感謝各位贊助法會的師兄法友們、並衷心感謝認允前來的仁波切、喇嘛、阿尼、瑜珈士和男女咒師等等的鼎力支持。我們亦歡迎不同派別、不同傳承的各位前來法會，並一同向著悲智相運的義理進發，共同實現世界和平之大道。

This is the first Awam Monlam Chenmo. Awam is a Sanskrit word that means wisdom and compassion. Monlam means prayer that the wish for wisdom and compassion comes true. Chenmo means great. This is a great path for compassion and wisdom that we need in this world. This prayer for compassion and wisdom can change the 7.7 billion people in this world.
今次是艾旺首次的祈願法會；「艾旺」一詞源於梵文，有著悲智相運的意思。以「滿林」意思是透過智慧的祈願，將慈悲引導出來的意向。最後「欽莫」是廣大的意思，利用祈願將慈悲廣泛地付諸實行。所以透過法會，我們就可以將智慧層層遞進地與慈悲糅合起來；並將之廣傳於世界每一個角落，藉此改變無量無邊的眾生；達到淨化人心的功效。

This Monlam is not just one religion. It is a prayer for all knowledge and that all sentient beings have compassion and wisdom and reach enlightenment. We welcome all religions and cultures.
所以此祈願法會，不單單是一種宗教儀式。而是要我們藉著清淨心的祈願，盡力地去喚醒所有眾生的慈悲和離苦解脫的智慧；這是不分宗教、種族、地位、學識和文化之分的。所以我們亦歡迎每一位熱愛和平和慈悲的朋友們，來參加這個祈願法會。

Anyone who feels they need compassion and wisdom, please join us in doing prayer and practice together. Then with wisdom and compassion, we can do positive actions in our daily life.
如果你也認同我們的理念，歡迎你們一同來參加，並一同來體驗智慧和慈悲，如何遍透於我們的生命當中。

Wisdom and compassion are useful for our mental health. Our body and speech will also be well when we have wisdom and compassion. And wisdom and compassion benefit other sentient beings.
智慧和慈悲對於我們的健康生命是不可或缺的。隨著智慧和慈悲的修習，我們的身語意會變得越來越清靜和俱力，並藉此能幫助更多的眾生。

In this way, I will try my best in the world. Hopefully, everyone will agree with the path for compassion and wisdom. This will change the world so there will be peace and all sentient beings will reach the great enlightenment.
於此道上，我會盡力地運用我的智慧和慈悲，去幫助每一位眾生。希望各位也能夠學習得到運用智慧和慈悲技巧，並將此道慢慢地在世界每一個角落伸延開去，使每一位眾生也能瞭解智慧和慈悲的功德。
